These worktops are both significant in size and weight, therefore it is important that they are handled correctly. In terms of delivery of these worktops, there are a few factors to consider to ensure the worktop is brought inside without any damage caused during movement.

Firstly, entry to the property it is going in, are there any tight staircases or doorways which will need to be navigated? Always ensure that there are at least 2 people carrying the worktop, one either side, this ensures the weight is distributed evenly to prevent personal injury and the weight of worktop being focused on one end. If lifting it over an obstacle, it is best to have a third person on hand who can lift and take the weight of the middle point of the worktop over the obstacle.

It is important to decide which room it is to go in before you carry it inside to minimise the length of time it is carried, if the kitchen situated in a narrow corridor/landing or requires navigation of a tight corner, it may be advisable to cut the worktop down so that it can fit through the area without any damage to the worktop or surrounding objects such as walls.if cutting the worktop down, ensure that it is supported evenly, at both ends and in the middle, otherwise it can snap when cut.

When the worktop has been successfully carried inside, always place it resting on the underside, never leave it face down or on the front edge, as this can damage the surface. Also make sure that it is laid as flat as possible, do not leave resting at an angle or with part of the underside exposed off the ground, as the worktop will bow under its own weight.

When the worktop is being installed onto the kitchen cabinets, always rest it on a work bench when preparing for the installation to prevent bowing and damage to the finish of the worktop.

Following these tips will ensure that the worktop is moved and installed in your new kitchen with the minimum of fuss and no damage to it or any surroundings.

Please note worktops should always be stored in a warm dry environment. If the worktop gets wet when bringing it into the property, remove all packaging and dry it thoroughly.
